Built for public channel posts
Every message in a public Telegram channel has its own web address in the form t.me/channel/123. Paste one of those and the media attached to that message is retrieved. Both the ordinary link and the preview variant with /s/ in the middle point at the same post and work equally well.
Useful when the app will not cooperate
Channel owners can switch off saving inside the Telegram app, and the desktop client sometimes refuses to export large media. Because a public channel is also a public web page, the same content can be collected from the browser without touching the app at all.
What stays out of reach
Private channels, group chats, direct messages and files sent as documents are not part of the public web view and cannot be fetched. The same is true of very large files, which Telegram only serves through its own applications.

How do I get the link to a Telegram post?
Long-press or right-click the message in a public channel and choose to copy the link. It will look like t.me/channelname/123.
Can I download from a private channel?
No. Private channels have no public web page, so there is nothing to read without being a member.
Why does it say the post has no downloadable media?
The message is probably text only, or the file was sent as a document. Documents are not exposed through the public web preview.
Do I need a Telegram bot or account?
Neither. Public channel posts are fetched straight from their web addresses.
